Jessie J's journey through illness and recovery

Jessie J has also been exceptionally transparent concerning her personal struggles and she has not only been talking about the successes of her career but also about the gritty details of her health struggles. On June 23, she got her first surgery and stayed in touch with her followers by sharing updates directly from her hospital bed, alternating her humor and vulnerability.

Even though she first rejoiced and informed fans that her cancer disappeared after the process, she later explained that she was awaiting the final test results to know for certain. She jokingly said that she needed another surgery so that everything would appear symmetrical, that she might as well call herself The LopJess Monster. Only a few weeks earlier, she was in Wembley Stadium with 75,000 fans, and she spoke about how much the performance had meant to her and how this would be her final show as she would now be fully committed to defeating breast cancer.

Previously, Jessie has also spoken about her fight with Meniere's disease in 2020, the pain of losing a baby in 2021, and her daily life with OCD and ADHD in 2024.
