Most expensive Labubus in the world

Born from the art world of Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, Labubu has become a popular icon among toy fans all over the world. It first came out in 2015 in Lung's The Monsters series.

Labubu stood out with its smart, fox-like looks, jagged big smile, and a fun way that often gets it into a fix. Not just a normal toy figure, Labubu feels more like a small voice of Lung's big fairy tale world, a place full of weird beings like Tycoco and Zimomo.

Over time, this playful guy has led to a wide range of rare toys. A lot of them are now much-wanted gems with big price tags for collectors.

Since these figures are usually made in minimal quantities as vinyl art toys, they have become a treasured artifact among fans who do not just appreciate the toys but also the community of similar people across the globe sharing their interests.

One such turning point was in 2017 when Pop Mart released Labubu to a wider market in their first blind box series, a risk that paid off by making Labubu a collectible sensation.

The blind box effect, in which a customer cannot be aware of what figure he or she is going to get, gave the box an addictive quality of excitement and contributed to developing a loyal fan community. Partnership with popular brands and artists has only increased the image of Labubu.

Here are the top 7 most expensive Labubus in the world

Labubu has won a big spot in the hearts of toy fans all over, not just as a fun toy to own but also as a mark of cool art and fun tricks. People love to put it on show on their shelves or keep it safe as a dear item. Each Labubu brings its own sweet charm that keeps its fans hooked.

    1) Three Wise Labubu

Since it started in 2017, the Three Wise Labubu toy line has built up a small but strong set of fans. Yet, it really got famous after being part of big art sales around the world. At an event by Sotheby's in Hong Kong, called Modern & Contemporary Discoveries, the fun 'Don't Hear, Don't See, Don't Speak' set shocked many by pulling in a big USD 25,890, a big step for a line that started as just a designer toy.

But this price looked small when the set was sold in Beijing, where it got an even bigger USD 70,900, showing how fast people want these limited toys and how they are changing the art sale scene.

    2) Labubu x Vans Old Skool Vinyl Plush Doll

Among the most costly toys in the Labubu doll set, the Labubu x Vans Old Skool Vinyl Plush Doll is a key pick for both fans and sellers. What makes this toy stand out is not just its fun tie-up with the well-known Vans Old Skool style, but also the big buzz it has made among lovers of cool toys and street fashion.

This doll's rarity has pushed its resale price way up, with some collectors paying over USD 3,500 to have one in their collection. Its mix of pop fun and rare charm turned Labubu into much more than a soft toy; it now shows how art toys and cool clothes can soar in worth when few are made and many love them.

    3) Sacai x Seventeen x Labubu up for bidding at Pharrell Williams’ auction house

In a cool mix of pop songs and style, the massive reach of K-pop has entered a new field with a surprise team-up with the Japanese brand Sacai. This teamwork, with the world-loved boy group Seventeen, gave new energy to the Labubu trend by putting out a special set that had a much-wanted Blind Box with 14 unique toy dolls. Held on Pharrell Williams’ bid site, JOOPITER.com, the sale was from June 8 to June 18 and went way above early guesses.

What started as small price guesses of a few hundred dollars per item grew into a wild bid war, ending up with a total of $337,600. Single dolls surprised even the expert collectors when one sold for $31,250 and another for $22,500.

    4) A tall brown Labubu doll

A huge brown Labubu toy just sold for a big sum of $140,000, showing how much this odd figure has become part of today's cool pop scene. More than just a simple toy, Labubu has turned into a big deal that makes buyers fight in bids and auction spots hold events just for it.

Its growing price reflects a strong demand for rare designer toys. The big auction place, Yongle International, plans to have more sales just for Labubu toys. With no drop in interest seen, the toy’s charm and worth look set to rise even more in the coming years.

    5) Life-sized Labubu doll

At a one-of-a-kind sale held by Yongle International Auction in Beijing, one soft toy took the show by bringing in an amazing USD 150,000, making it the hit sale of the day. Not like other sales that trade in good art or old things, this event was all about a well-liked soft toy that has got big love from young shoppers and pop culture fans.

The most extraordinary one was the mint-green plush sold at 131cm, a far cry from expectations and breaking all the sales history of this toy, which has a retail price as low as USD 22 and a maximum price of about USD 900, to very rare ones in Pop Mart stores.

A spirited final bid shocked a lot of people, and particularly a desperate buyer who had only intended to spend 20,000 Chinese Yuan, or about USD 2,780, only to see the price rapidly soar way above what she could spend with a blink of the eye.

    6) The Monsters Labubu Best of Luck Vinyl Plush Doll

It is the Monster Labubu Best of Luck Vinyl Plush Doll that has acquired the status of a collector's item without much announcement among toy collectors and designer figure fans.

Recently released as one of the more unusual, limited edition items in The Monsters series, this Labubu has already captured the attention not only with its whimsically malicious appearance but also due to its initial run value rising sharply in the secondary market.

On StockX, a web-based marketplace that follows the resale repertoire of rare items, its average resale tag currently lies at about HK$7,700, or approximately 980 US dollars.

To most collectors, the result is that the Labubu figure with its own unique enchantment, as well as the limited edition of the release, and its cult brand The Monsters, was not merely a collectible item, but it also manifested how the new art toy in vinyl nowadays has intersected pop culture, streetwear hype, and future art investments.

    7) Labubu Walk by Fortune Figure

The toy Labubu Walk by Fortune Figure has become a top pick for both big fans and those who sell it to others, with its resale price now about HK$4,700 or around USD 600. But this is not just for having a fun item, the price climb of Labubu Walk shows a bigger change where rare art toys are seen as other ways to put money into something worth more later.

Not like toys made by the lot, these figures are loved for how they look alone and for being hard to get, which causes fights over who will pay more and keeps them wanted in places like StockX, where they are sold again.

For a lot of folks who gather things, nabbing Labubu Walk is not only about setting a cute toy on their rack. It means they join a select world crowd that loves new creations, hard-to-find things, and the rush of having what hardly any others have. This love is what makes the cost go up and what began as a tiny art toy into a prized bit of today's collectible world.
