90 Day Fiancé star Olga puts Russia move on hold, continues photography in New York after split from Steven

90 Day Fiancé star Olga Koshimbetova shared an update about her life on 90 Day Diaries in May 2024. In the episode, she said that she had separated from her husband Steven Frend and was thinking about going back to Russia with their two kids.

The couple was introduced on season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé, during which fans followed their love story and them having their first child, Alex, in Russia. Later, they moved to the U.S. and married in 2019. Olga and Steven have had many ups and downs. They separated in 2020, started dating again, and had their second child, Leila, in 2022.

Yet again, they decided to separate in 2024. Steven moved out, and Olga stated living in New York was expensive and stressful, and she dreamed about moving back to Russia, where life would be more manageable. Though Olga has dreamed of leaving, she has remained in the U.S., as of April 2025.

90 Day Fiancé star Olga is still living in New York with her children and pursuing her photography career. Fans got to see a little bit of what she is doing now on her social media, where she regularly shares her photos and moments spent with her children.

90 Day Fiancé star Olga talks about the split and says New York is expensive

On 90 Day Diaries, Steven said he and Olga had grown apart and were no longer living together.

“The past few months, we really haven’t been seeing eye to eye too much,” he told the cameras.

90 Day Fiancé star Steven said he had moved out and was staying with a friend. He also said that Olga was a terrific mother, but they couldn't keep up their relationship. Olga talked about the struggles she was dealing with as well. She said that it was tough living in New York with two kids and that her marketing job wasn't paying all the bills.

For this reason, she was considering going back to Russia, where costs are lower, and she would have more help. Moving was not an easy option, but Olga felt she owed it to her children to consider what would be best for them. Even though they had decided to separate, Olga and Steven planned to share parenting their kids.

They initially knew they wanted their children to be taken care of regardless of what was going on between them. At the time of filming, Olga hadn't made a final decision, but she said that she had intent to find a more stable life for her family.

Olga stays in New York and focuses on photography

90 Day Fiancé star Olga spoke of her plans to return to Russia, but she has opted to stay in New York. In April 2025, she posted photos on Instagram capturing aspects of her daily life. Her photos captured time spent with her children, experiences with friends, and some behind-the-scenes captures from her photoshoots.

In the description, she indicated that these photos represented her "life lately". Her Instagram bio currently reads "Mom & Photographer in NYC," which reaffirms she is still living in the United States. While she has not indicated that she has completely given up on the idea of leaving, it looks like she is focused on a career, and works to build her life in New York.

On the show, 90 Day Fiancé star Olga indicated she wanted to focus more on photography. She specified her marketing job was not sufficient to support her expenses, but she hoped photography could avoid returning to Russia. She indicated that she wanted to expand her new career and also develop a life for her children.

At this point, it appears Olga is doing just that. She is raising her children, pursuing photography, and has stayed in New York against her initial plan of relocating.
