General Hospital recap: What happened on July 22, 2025?

The most recent episode of the daytime soap opera General Hospital, which aired on July 22, 2025, delivered a mix of suspicion, political intrigue, and personal dilemmas. As Lucas Jones grew worried about Marco's disappearance, he expressed his concerns to the PCPD, pointing a finger at Sonny Corinthos. Meanwhile, Mayor Laura Collins found herself in a difficult position after receiving unsettling news about her close ones. 

Elsewhere, Sidwell is desperate to bring back Marco and has made decisions that could shift the power dynamics in Port Charles.

On the other hand,  Willow is excited about her wedding to Drew, but is unaware of his shady tactics to get work done. This episode of the soap opera was filled with plot-twisting dynamics that kept fans on the edge. 

Lucas accuses Sonny of Marco's disappearance

As seen in the previous episodes of General Hospital, the ongoing feud between Sonny and Sidwell rose to the point where they started attacking their loved ones.

In the recent episode, Lucas Jones makes his way to the PCPD and asks them to look at the disappearance from his angle.

He clarifies that he firmly believes that this is a case of abduction, and Sonny Corinthos is behind the scenes. He spoke specifically with Harrison Chase and ADA Justine Turner, since the two are much more acquainted with the ambiguous nature. 

Further, ADA Turner took the matter seriously, urged the department to classify the case as a potential abduction, signaling a formal investigation that could have far-reaching implications for Sonny.

She further called in Sonny and threatened to charge him with Marco’s abduction if he did not show up in the next 24 hours. 

Mayor Collins's position

Elsewhere on Port Charles, Mayor Laura Collins found herself in an uncomfortable and compromising position. She received the news about the controversial Measure C and her political rival Councilman Ezra Boyle’s involvement in the same.

Jordan Asford was also seen updating Laura about the current situation of Port Charles. 

Further, Sonny Corinthos also expressed that she must cut all her ties with him to keep her political career at light. Her leadership and moral compass are truly being tested as the lines between legal authority and illicit influence become increasingly blurred.

Sidwell's big move

On the other hand, adding another layer to the day's events, Sidwell has decided to take a step back from the ongoing feud between him and Sonny Corinthos. He was seen talking with Sonny Corinthos.

He agreed to back down from his way to build power in Port Charles, and exchange, he wanted his son, Marco, safe and sound back with him. 

Apart from that, he also declared that he will no longer support Mensure C, which dragged Sonny out of Port Chales. Upon learning this, Drew, along with Martin and Jordan Ashford, was left in shock. 

Portia's dilemma and Willow's blissful ignorance

Further, at the General Hospital, Portia Robinson was facing immense pressure. Drew Cain's blackmail, demanding that she call Michael Corinthos' medical records wrong, pushed her to breaking point.

Portia expressed to Isaiah her struggle, knowing that her medical license and her family's future were at stake. Isaiah offered very important support, encouraged him to stand on his ground and "swing down", if necessary, and urged him to fight against Drew's manipulation. 

Willow, who is hand-delivering her wedding invites, is in a blissful ignorance, highlighted by the mysteries and a deep web of machines threatening to highlight the lives of people around him in the General Hospital.

Finally, Martin Gray gave unresolved news to the Tracy Quartermine, which promoted a sharp and fixed rejection, although the nuances of his proposal are immersed in mystery.
