Gold Rush: White Water aired a new episode on July 11, 2025, featuring another setback for Dustin Hurt and his team. As the crew prepared for an important dive near bedrock, they were hit with a logistical issue, they were nearly out of fuel. The update came from team member Danielle Miller, who informed Dustin they only had one jug of gas left.

This meant they couldn’t power their equipment, halting their efforts to mine gold and stay on schedule. Dustin, who had recently found hope after getting close to bedrock, reacted with frustration.

With over $100,000 worth of gold still needed to meet financial goals, the Gold Rush team’s progress was already behind, and this fuel shortage added pressure to an already difficult situation.

As the team looked at their options, Dustin admitted the fuel problem was due to "poor planning" and said it was his own mistake.

With time running out and creditors expecting results, he knew there was a risk of losing his mining claim if things didn’t improve soon.

A post shared by Gold Rush (@goldrushtv)

In this episode of Gold Rush, Dustin and his crew were finally closing in on the bedrock, a promising sign in their gold mining efforts.

Earlier in the season, clearer waters and improved visibility had led to the discovery that they were much closer to the bottom than expected.

“I’m already celebrating in my head right now,” Dustin had said at the time.

But just as the team was getting ready to dive, Danielle shared some bad news — they were almost out of gas. This stopped all their work. To fix the problem, Dustin had to think about making a long 60-mile trip to get more fuel.

This delay didn’t just slow things down; it also affected how the team was feeling. Danielle said she wasn’t sure they could “get through the whole day with, even with one diver in,” and Dustin admitted they were “running out of time.”

Running low on fuel added to a long list of problems they were already dealing with bad weather, tough working conditions, and money troubles.

As things got harder, Dustin’s hope began to fade. He had told the team to “continue on” until they hit the gold-filled bedrock, but now even that seemed uncertain.

With no gold found yet and pressure from creditors, losing time meant losing money. Every hour without progress made it harder for the team to stay on track financially.

Dustin worries about the future of his mining operation in Gold Rush: White Water

Throughout this episode of Gold Rush, Dustin talked about how important this mining season was for him and his team. His claim at Nugget Creek came with rising debts and less time to fix things.

He had already said they hadn’t “found enough gold” and were counting on the next couple of weeks to change that.

But when the fuel problem caused another delay, Dustin started to worry that they might run out of time. He said the pressure was getting to him.

In a private chat, he shared that he was “desperate” for a breakthrough and started to question if he was doing a good job as a leader after so many problems.

He even said he might have to “shut the doors,” showing how unsure he was about keeping the mining going if they didn’t find enough gold soon. The rest of the Gold Rush team also showed concern.

They didn’t blame Dustin, but everyone felt the stress and frustration.

Running out of fuel felt like just one more problem in a long list, no money, bad weather, and constant delays. Their focus shifted from finding gold to simply trying to keep things going.
