Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice: Full cast and character guide

Netflix is producing a six‑episode limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice, written by bestselling author Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn, both serving also as executive producers alongside lead actor Emma Corrin and others. This updated edition of Austen's 1813 novel is a faithful retelling that aims to respect its original tone while appealing to younger and contemporary audiences. The series is scheduled to stream exclusively on Netflix in the U.S., with production underway in the U.K. as of summer 2025; an exact U.S. release date has not yet been announced.

The story centers on Fitzwilliam Darcy (Jack Lowden), a wealthy and reticent gentleman, and Elizabeth Bennet (Emma Corrin), a bright and independent young woman. The story, which takes place in early 19th-century England, chronicles their developing love in the face of miscommunications, societal biases, and familial demands. Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet

In Netflix's upcoming six-episode Pride and Prejudice adaptation, Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet. Elizabeth is a bright, witty young lady who successfully negotiates social demands in Regency-era England. In the character, Corrin embodies Elizabeth's incisive mind, moral rectitude, and developing capacity for love with a contemporary sensibility that is fiercely independent and emotionally nuanced. Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy

In the upcoming series, Jack Lowden plays Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. Darcy is a forty-year-old, affluent, and reserved man who is the opposite of Elizabeth Bennet. Lowden delivers a new take on the classic part; his red-haired performance captures Darcy's journey from cold pride to moral rectitude and genuine love with brooding intensity and concealed warmth.

Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet

In the latest Pride and Prejudice adaptation on Netflix, Olivia Colman plays Mrs. Bennet. She portrays the nervous, match-obsessed mother of five daughters, endlessly planning mutually beneficial unions while alternating between drama and real parental care. Colman is expected to play this legendary part from the Regency era with both comedic flair and emotional depth.
