Nicolas Cage in talks to lead True Detective Season 5 set in New York’s Jamaica Bay

HBO's True Detective is set to premiere in 2027. This thriller series will continue the show’s tradition of crime investigations under all circumstances. This season is naturally expected to bring in a thrilling narrative given the record from its past seasons. The new season will probably have new investigations at New York’s Jamaica Bay. True Detective: Night Country recap

True Detective: Night Country was the fourth season of the show, started on HBO on January 14, 2024. The season took place in the creepy made-up town of Ennis, Alaska, during the polar night. 

The series followed Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) as they looked into the strange disappearance of eight men from a research station.

This season was different from the others. The cold, empty setting gave the show a creepy new feel, which was very different from the heat and intensity of the first season.
