Rocky, who is serving as a co-chair during this year's gala, arrived early in the evening. While the Fenty Beauty founder graced the venue well after the red carpet ended, something she has done in the past, reported People.
The couple share two sons together, RZA Athelston Mayers, who turns three in a couple of weeks, and Riot Rose Mayers, 1. They announced their first pregnancy by walking through NYC, baby bump on display. Meanwhile, the second one came during Rihanna's 2023 Super Bowl halftime show performance.

During Monday's gala, A$AP Rocky wore a custom black ensemble from his label AWGE, pairing it with a brooch, ring, sunglasses, and a statement umbrella. Meanwhile, Rihanna rocked a Marc Jacobs outfit featuring a gray bustier and a black floor-length skirt. She complemented it with a cropped jacket, heels, a tie, and a bold, wide-brimmed black hat.
Notably, this year's theme for the gala was Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. According to an October 2024 YouTube video by the Met, it reflected stories of "stylish Black individuals across art, literature, music, and society." The theme was inspired by Monica Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
According to News 18, right before her interviews, a fan, referencing her 2007 hit, Umbrella, jokingly quipped:
"Did you bring your umbrella-ella-ella, eh?"
To which Rihanna joked:
"I brought the kid!"
Rumors of the pair's pregnancy began circulating earlier in the day. According to News 18, the songstress's obvious baby bump was on full display as she roamed NYC. Additionally, her trusted photographer, Miles Diggs, shared a photo from her outing, showing Rihanna visibly pregnant and standing in the rain.
A$AP Rocky was all smiles, proudly accepting all the congratulations coming his way on the red carpet. Talking to the Associated Press, he noted it felt "amazing," adding:
"We were tired of holding that, and it was time to show the people what we was cooking up. I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, because we’re definitely happy."
Last October, Vogue revealed the Praise the Lord rapper would be the co-chair alongside Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair.
In a March 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Vogue editor-in-chief Wintour opined on why A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are the most influential celebrity couple when it comes to fashion. She explained:
"First of all, they're very talented, they're very brilliant, I think they have wonderful values, and they have an enormous amount of style."
Both personalities have been regulars at the Met Gala. One of Fenty Beauty's memorable ensembles includes 2018's Heavenly Bodies look (she wore a papal-inspired Maison Margiela outfit). Rocky made his debut (alongside the Work hitmaker) in 2021 wearing a massive multicolored quilt.
