The latest episode of Jeopardy! aired on Thursday, July 24, 2025, with Scott Riccardi emerging as the champion again. During his 15-day winning streak, he has earned over $430,910.

In today's Final Jeopardy!, the category was "Theories," and the clue presented was: "A version of this theoretical economic process was horse and sparrow. If you fed the horse enough oats, the sparrows fed afterwards."

The correct response was "What is trickle-down economics?"

This has a direct connection with economic theory that talks about how helping the rich will "trickle down" to everyone else in the long run.

The horse and sparrow in the clue were used as metaphors to illustrate that resources allocated to the wealthy should, in theory, also benefit others.

People often associate this idea with the Reagan administration. However, this remains a topic of debate in modern economics.

Since its premiere in 1964, Jeopardy! has been a mainstay of American TV. The show is known for having a reverse question-and-answer format. It also gives contestants general knowledge hints in the form of answers.

Millions of people still enjoy watching Jeopardy! owing to Alex Trebek's legendary run as host and Ken Jennings' subsequent success.

Highlights from the July 24, 2025, Thursday Jeopardy! episode

    Jeopardy round

The first round of Jeopardy! started with the usual broad categories. The categories that the contestants had to choose from were World Geography, The Movies, and Inventors and Inventions.

Scott Riccardi quickly showed that he was the best by getting the Daily Double in the Kid Lit on Español category. He bet with confidence and won, putting him ahead in the game.

Riccardi quickly became the clear leader, even though Sarah Rubenfeld and Senay Goitom also showed what they could do.

    Double Jeopardy round

The game became risky when it moved to the Double Jeopardy round. The contestants had to deal with new challenges in the new categories, such as Classical Music, Reality TV, and Geographic Literary Titles.

Scott's smart play helped him stay in charge even though he gave a few wrong answers. Sarah took a risk in the "Sense of Honor" category, but her wrong answer cost her no points.

The round stayed competitive, though, as the contestants worked through tricky clues and changed their plans as needed.

    Final Jeopardy round

In Final Jeopardy!, the category was "Theories," and the clue read:

"A version of this theoretical economic process was horse and sparrow. If you fed the horse enough oats, the sparrows fed afterwards."

The correct response was "What is trickle-down economics?"

This figure of speech shows an important idea in supply-side economics: giving tax breaks or other benefits to the wealthy should help the economy as a whole.

Some people say that the benefits don't really reach the poor, but others say that it encourages investment and growth.

The clue's reference to horses and sparrows showed how this economic theory makes fun of the way wealth is distributed.

The July 24, 2025, episode of Jeopardy! was another intriguing chapter in Scott Riccardi's long and successful streak, despite Sarah Rubenfeld and Senay Goitom being tough competitors.
