Peacock's gripping new limited series All Her Fault season 1 dropped all eight episodes on November 6, 2025 turning Andrea Mara's 2021 Irish bestseller into an American nightmare. Created by Megan Gallagher, and directed by - Minkie Spiro and Kate Dennis, the show stars Sarah Snook as Marissa Irvine a Chicago mom whose son Milo vanishes after a playdate.

Dakota Fanning, Jake Lacy, Michael Peña and Abby Elliott round out the cast in this tense kidnapping thriller that shifts the novel's Dublin setting to the Windy City's affluent suburbs.

Though set in Chicago, All Her Fault season 1 was filmed almost entirely in Melbourne, Australia—using just two 48-hour dashes to Chicago plus drone shots for authentic Windy City atmosphere. Top-tier facilities, and Snook's Australian roots made Victoria, the smart choice for recreating Chicago's lakeside neighborhoods.

Sarah Snook is the executive producer too. She pushed green initiatives with reusable cups and metal straws. Electric shuttles, hydrogenated vegetable oil trucks and waste dropped 68 percent versus typical US productions. She shared with The Hollywood Reporter-

"Shaping a culture on set that was really nice. To be able to take more of a hand in things. Being in Australia we were able to run the set in a particular way that was much more environmentally friendly"

All Her Fault season 1: Every filming location explored

    • Melbourne, Australia served as the production's backbone, with crews transforming its suburbs into convincing Chicago doubles.
    • Elwood, Victoria: Tree-lined streets and coastal parks stood in for Marissa's gated community. Point Ormond Reserve provided dramatic bay views that mirrored Lake Michigan shores, hosting key neighborhood canvassing scenes.
    • Williamstown, Victoria: This historic bayside suburb delivered waterfront exteriors, including police searches of the water that echoed Chicago's own drag operations.

    • Docklands Studios Melbourne: The hub for interiors, utilizing sound stages and virtual production tech to build the Irvine mansion sets and other controlled environments without leaving Australia.
    • Red Hill South, Mornington Peninsula: The sprawling estate at 29 Callanans Road became the Irvine family compound, its grand scale perfect for high-stakes domestic drama.
    • Broader Melbourne areas: Street scenes, shop fronts, and the stand-in Chicago Marathon were shot across the city. The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre doubled for police press conferences.

Limited Shoots were done in Chicago, USA. The team made targeted trips stateside for authenticity that Australia couldn't fake.

    • Millennium Park and The Bean: Dakota Fanning filmed quick exteriors here in Episode 1, crossing in front of Cloud Gate.
    • Chicago Riverwalk and Marina City: Iconic towers appeared in background shots as Fanning's character moved through the city.
    • CTA elevated trains: Brief sequences captured the real rumble of Chicago's L trains.

The filmmakers shot only a tiny fraction of All Her Fault in real Chicago- just two quick 48 hour trips plus some drone footage of the skyline and lake. Everything else (99% of the show) was filmed in Melbourne, Australia.

They cleverly used those few authentic Chicago shots at the start of the series and sprinkled aerial views throughout so viewers instantly believe the story is happening in the USA even though almost the entire production took place on the other side of the world.

All eight episodes of All Her Fault Season 1 are streaming now exclusively on Peacock.
