Influencer Soraya Riffy has been a victim of a recent home burglary. The influencer's lawyer, Tom Michel, released a statement on July 6, 2025, stating that the burglary occurred on July 4, 2025, in Riffy's home in Marseille, France.
Soraya Riffy is a French beauty influencer with over one million followers on Instagram and over 184,000 followers on Snapchat. She rose to fame in 2016 as a participant in the French reality show Touche pas à mon poste.
On the day of the incident, one of the burglars pretended he had lost his keys, and when Riffy opened her door to help him, the three men entered her home and allegedly assaulted her while demanding money.
She claimed the burglars taped her mouth shut, threatened her with firearms, and box cutters for nearly two hours. When the 30-year-old passed out, they reportedly sexually assaulted her. Soraya Riffy stated she was covered in bleach, found injuries all over her body, and pain in her private parts when she woke up.
In the caption of her Instagram post, Riffy claimed she received threats via email from the burglars fifteen days before the incident. She told Le Parisien that the burglary was the result of unnecessary "media exposure," and it had left her traumatized. Riffy also told the French media outlet that she would take a break from her work and leave Marseille.
"I'm disfigured, disgusted, and frightened. Too much media exposure leads to danger. I'm going to leave Marseille for good, step away from social media for the time being. I'm lost," the influencer said.
According to The Sun's report dated July 7, 2025, the three burglars took the influencer's Rolex watch, two designer bags, a Cartier bracelet, and her house and car keys. In her statement, Soraya Riffy claimed the alleged brutal assault left her with a concussion and a broken nose. Calling her body a "crime scene," her lawyer said she is psychologically "destroyed."
"Today she suffers from a concussion, the nose is completely broken and psychologically she is destroyed. Her body is a crime scene," the statement reads.
Riffy then thanked her followers for supporting her and her family.
"Soraya and her family would like to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for all your messages of support. We are with her to support her," Riffy stated.
Soraya Riffy claimed she alerted the authorities when she first received threats from the burglars two weeks ago. The police officers have now launched an investigation into gang violence, armed robbery, death threats, and kidnapping.
A similar case occurred in Marseille on May 1, 2025. A 60-year-old woman was murdered during a brutal burglary. She lived alone in her home in Gréasque, northeast of Marseille, France. According to the blog, My Guide Marseille, four people were arrested, and one of them tried to flee the scene.
Per the BBC's report dated October 7, 2024, the city also has seen an increase in drug-related crimes, driven by the local drug gangs.
