A Waiting to Exhale TV series is in the works, Terry McMillan announces

“So, WAITING TO EXHALE is going to be a TV series,” the author tweeted Thursday. “Produced by Lee Daniels. Attica Locke and Tembi Locke are writing. Anthony Hemingway will direct. I lucked out.” McMillan's 1992 bestseller focused on four women navigating their complex relationships with the men in their lives as well as with one another. It was adapted into a movie in 1995 directed by Forest Whitaker and starring Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett. According to Deadline, Waiting to Exhale has long been in development at 20th Television, where Daniels currently has an overall deal in place.
