A man inspired by History's Forged in Fire may have accidentally burned down three residential buildings

John Gomes of upstate New York was charged with felony counts of arson and reckless endangerment after he was trying to bend metal apparently inspired by History channel's bladesmith competition. Gomes was later released on bail, but the damage has displaced 28 people.
