During the House impeachment votes Wednesday night, CBS stuck with the Survivor: Island of the Idols finale until the second vote, NBC pre-empted Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways and George Stephanopoulos broke into Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All In The Family & Good Times twice to announce the result of each of the two votes for impeachment. Fox, meanwhile, did not cut away from the Season 2 finale of The Masked Singer. At the beginning of ABC's live special, host and executive producer Jimmy Kimmel warned that there would be interruptions. "Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but apparently something’s going on in Washington D.C. tonight,” Kimmel told viewers with Norman Lear by his side. “So we might get interrupted in the middle of the broadcast …apparently there’s trouble in the Nixon administration," Kimmel added, getting his White House occupants mixed up since Richard Nixon resigned from office in 1974 and Live in Front of a Studio Audience was re-creating a 1976 episode of All in the Family and a 1975 episode of Good Times.
