The streaming service is teaming with Blumhouse to adapt New York Magazine's April 2019 story “The Stolen Kids of Sarah Lawrence,” about the father of a Sarah Lawrence student, Larry Ray, an ex-con and former federal informant who moved into his daughter's dorm and allegedly sex-trafficked her fellow classmates, forcing one into prostitution. "This story has it all: true crime, a charismatic villain, the Marines, the Upper East Side, limousines, a mobster named 'Sally Dogs,' the Bush administration, the FBI, a trip to Europe, and copious psychological f*ckery," explains Rebecca Alter, writing for New York Magazine's Vulture. The article paved the way for the feds arresting Ray last month, and charging him with sex trafficking, extortion and forced labor.
