The Titans star will lead the Amazon TV series based on The Killing Floor, Lee Child's first Jack Reacher novel. Child conceived of Jack Reacher as an imposing 6-foot-5 character who weighs 210 to 250 pounds. Ritchson is 6-foot-4 and 234 pounds, according to Deadline. (IMDb lists him at 6-foot-3.) Child wanted a "more imposing" physical portrayal after the 5-foot-7 Tom Cruise played Reacher in two big-screen adaptations. "The size of Reacher is really, really important and it’s a big component of who he is," Child said in 2018. "So what I’ve decided to do is – there won’t be any more movies with Tom Cruise. Instead we’re going to take it to Netflix or something like that. Long-form streaming television, with a completely new actor.” He added: “We’re rebooting and starting over and we’re going to try and find the perfect guy.” In addition to Titans, Ritchson is known for playing Aquaman on Smallville, Blue Mountain State and getting rejected on American Idol Season 3.
