The 24-year-old Ortiz pleaded not guilty to felony charges this morning in a Downtown L.A. courtroom. Ortiz and co-defendant Armando Miguel Navarro were arrested May 27 after allegedly trying to kill a man named Brian Duke on May 24 "for the benefit of, at the direction of, and in association with a criminal street gang with the specific intent to promote, further and assist in criminal conduct by gang members," according to the criminal complaint. Navarro is the one accused of pulling the trigger, but prosecutors didn't detail Ortiz's involvement. Ortiz starred on Season 1 of ABC's American Crime in 2015, playing Tony Gutiérrez, "an impressionable teen who got in way over his head even under the watchful eye of his dedicated dad Alonzo." His last acting credit was as busboy on El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie.
