For three weeks starting on Sunday, viewers from every time zone will be allowed to vote at the same time. “We set out on a journey to find the best talent this nation has to offer,” said ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey. “As we head into the next phase of the American Idol competition, it only makes sense to let every viewer from coast to coast experience the magic of live television and have the ability to vote for America’s next superstar.” Idol becomes the first reality show to allow for live coast-to-coast voting. The move follows NBC's move last year to broadcast live Saturday Night Live episodes nationwide. ALSO: Idol recovers from last week's series low.
