Shawn Rech, who's directing a Making the Murderer follow-up called Convicting a Murderer, says his crew obtained a confession from a "notable" convicted and imprisoned killer in Wisconsin. "We haven't confirmed the legitimacy of the confession, but seeing as it was given by a notable convicted murderer from Wisconsin, we feel responsible to deliver any and all possible evidence to law enforcement and legal teams," said Rech, whose docuseries doesn't yet have a streaming or network platform. Rech, however, tells TMZ that the unnamed convict until recently had been trying to implicate Steven Avery in the murder of Teresa Halbach. A rep for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, meanwhile, tells TMZ they're looking into the "confession," but added that "it’s important to note that this new information directly contradicts information previously provided by the same individual."
