Andi Mack's Peyton Elizabeth Lee will lead Disney+ Doogie Howser reboot Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.

The 16-year-old former Disney Channel star will play Lahela "Doogie" Kameāloha, a mixed-race 16-year-old girl who is juggling a budding medical career and life as a teen. Lee is also mixed-race, of Chinese, Irish, English and Italian descent. From 2017 to 2019, Lee starred in Disney Channel's tween comedy Andi Mack, also playing a mixed-race character. Fresh Off the Boat and How I Met Your Mother writer Kourtney Kang, who is also mixed-race Asian, is leading Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.
