Samberg says he first got the call Wednesday night, three days before airtime, asking him and his fellow Lonely Islanders to figure out a sequel to Natalie Portman’s 2006 rap while simultaneously working on his Fox sitcom. “I will say, I wish they had called us on Monday!” he says. “There were many things we would have done differently, but that’s SNL. In the end, it seems like it came out pretty good. As long as the audience laughs, it’s a win.”
