Apology experts say public apologies for sexual harassment have “been awful”

Charlie Rose and Al Franken actually offered apologies, unlike Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, who offered “faux apologies,” says one apology expert. Another apology expert, psychologist Guy Winch, says the recent apologies have been more about Hollywood stars trying to maintain their fan base. “The apology is almost exclusively about the person who had the poor behavior,” he says. “That’s a hundred percent for the fans or the followers or the constituents…They are crafted so fans can say, ‘What do you want?
