Apple emerged as the victor of a bidding war over the TV series based on CNN host Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, which primarily focused on the behind-the-scenes drama at the Today show. Aniston, signing on for her first regular TV role since Friends, will serve as an executive producer, as will her Friends sister Witherspoon. Also, they will both co-own the show. The untitled series, which originally was envisioned as a Lifetime movie, is slated for two 10-episode seasons.
