Australia's ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) launched a comedy titled Content this week across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram that was filmed with smartphones in vertical video designed to be watched on your phones. Content follows a 23-year-old wannabe influencer named Lucy as she tries to gain followers over seven episodes, which are seven to 15 minutes long. "The comedy, which seems to play out in real-time, was mostly shot on an iPhone held by the two actresses," reports Clarissa Sebag-Montefiore. "In the first episode, a woman’s live streaming of her car crash goes viral, a satirical premise that has already proved plausible: A short clip of the car crash’s live stream did go viral on Twitter this week, with many users apparently convinced that it was real footage." ABC producer Que Minh Luu pitched the idea for the series, saying: “We were convinced there was a story to be told about people’s online lives that we hadn’t seen yet. Our phones reveal our most intimate secrets.” Episodes of Content are released weekly at 6 p.m. Sydney time so that it can be watched by commuters on their phones. Content isn't the first show to film with iPhones. Broad City's final season premiered earlier this year with Abbi and Ilana on their phones for Abbi's 30th birthday, with emojis and captions added in postproduction.
