BET's American Soul enlists Bobby Brown as an actor, finds its Diana Ross and Ike & Tina Turner

Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams will play Diana Ross on the Soul Train-based TV series, while Brown will portray soul singer Rufus Thomas. Gabrielle Dennis, who played Whitney Houston in The Bobby Brown Story, will play Tina Turner, while McKinley Freeman will take on the role of her abusive husband Ike Turner.
