"When I was writing the script for Parasite, I had so many more ideas that I couldn’t fit into the film: Significant plots that can happen between sequences, background stories for each character,” Bong told EW while discussing his film's six Oscar nominations. “My aim with the TV series is to expand the film. As of now we don’t really have a specific direction, but I want to create a six-hour film that expands the story of Parasite, kind of like the TV version of Fanny and Alexander. I don’t think as of now it’s easy to categorize what it will be, whether it’s a sequel or prequel, because we’re still very much in the early stages, but I do hope that people who have watched the movie can still be surprised and find it unpredictable. Soon I will meet with Adam (McKay) to have further discussions of what this series will be like.” ALSO: Bong Joon Ho says he's teaming on the Parasite TV series with Adam McKay because he really loved The Big Short.
