On April 10, Alisyn Camerota was interviewing Dr. Anthony Fauci on CNN when she noted that Saturday Night Live would be returning that weekend for its first "At Home" edition. "What do you think the chances are that somebody will portray you?” Camerota asked. “I have no idea, I hope not," responded Dr. Fauci. “Well, if they did, which actor would you want to play you?” Camerota asked, and offered “Here are suggestions that I’ve heard. Ben Stiller, Brad Pitt. Which one?” “Oh, Brad Pitt, of course,” Fauci replied jokingly. The second SNL At Home opened with Pitt as Dr. Fauci. "First I'd like to thank all the older women in America who have sent me supportive, inspiring, and sometimes graphic emails," said to the camera. At the end of the pre-recorded sketch, the Oscar winner broke character. "To the real Dr. Fauci, thank you for your calm and your clarity in this unnerving time," said Pitt. "And thank you to the medical workers, first responders, and their families for being on the front line. And now, live — kinda — from all across America, it's Saturday night." Pitt has never hosted SNL before. His only previous on-screen SNL appearance was as David Spade's therapist in a 1998 cold open.
