The fate of Paul's Jesse Pinkman after Breaking Bad's 2013 series finale will be the focus of El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, written and directed by creator Vince Gilligan, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Oct. 11 and air on AMC at a later date. Paul spoke about the film with The New York Times. “It’s a chapter of Breaking Bad that I didn’t realize that I wanted,” said Paul, whose character was last seen speeding off in a stolen Chevrolet El Camino. “And now that I have it, I’m so happy that it’s there.” Netflix offered the following details of the film: “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.” Paul said he was forbidden from revealing any more details. But he did say that Gilligan called him two years ago to say he had an idea of revisiting the Breaking Bad universe. “At the very end of the conversation,” Paul said, “he mentioned that he had an idea of where to take it from here, and he wanted to hear my thoughts on it. I quickly told Vince that I would follow him into a fire.” Paul said he couldn't confirm if other Breaking Bad alums will appear in the movie, including co-star Bryan Cranston. “All I can say, I think people will be really happy with what they see,” he said.
