The Lucas Till-led reboot of the 1985-1992 ABC action series of the same name will conclude on Friday, April 30, ending a five-season run that began in 2016. MacGyver averaged a respectable 5.86 million viewers this season under new showrunner Monica Macer. She took over MacGyver last year from creator of the reboot Peter Lenkov, who was fired last year amid abuse allegations. Till alleged that Lenkov was responsible for a hostile work environment on set that left him feeling "suicidal" during his first season. Macer said of wrapping up MacGyver: “Since coming on board to MacGyver last year, I have been amazed by the devotion and enthusiasm of this remarkable cast and crew, as well as the loyal fans...We can’t wait for them to see our spectacular final episodes and the adventures that still await for Mac and the team at the Phoenix.” MacGyver is one of three long-running CBS series ending this spring, joining Mom and NCIS: New Orleans.
