The Wall Street Journal reports that CBS is seeking $325,000 for 30 seconds of commercial time for Sunday's special, which is twice the normal rate. CBS won the rights to the special after Winfrey's Harpo Productions pitched NBC and ABC. But CBS had an edge with its ties to Winfrey, a former member of the 60 Minutes team who is best friends with CBS This Morning's Gayle King. The Journal reports that CBS is paying between $7 million and $9 million to license the special. The deal allows CBS to license the special in international markets, including Britain's ITV.
