Since the reality competition category was created in 2003, The Amazing Race has won 10 times, The Voice has taken four Emmys and Top Chef has won just once. The problem is there is very little turnover and not enough new groundbreaking reality shows. The reality category follows the tradition of the Emmy category for talk shows, which has mostly been dominated by four guys over the past two decades: David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and John Oliver.
