Carol and Rod Serling were married from 1948 until his death at age 50 in 1975. Following his death, Carol Serling worked to keep his legacy alive through such projects as The Twilight Zone Magazine, which ran from 1981 through 1989 and two episodes titled Twilight Zone: Rod Serling's Lost Classic airing in 1994 based on material found after his death. She also helped launch the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror theme park ride at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios. Carol Serling owned the legal rights to her late husband's name and likeness, while CBS owns the rights to The Twilight Zone.
