Cary Fukunaga and David Lowery to turn 1985 film Explorers into a TV pilot

A pilot based on the Joe Dante-directed coming-of-age sci-fi film starring Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix is set to be made for Paramount Television. One of the two directors will direct the pilot after collaborating on a script.
