On May 5, Netflix sent the media screeners of Season 2 of Mindy Kaling's teen dramedy with a note telling reviewers not to reveal Teigen's surprise appearance as a narrator for one episode that would be a callback to a Season 1 episode. One week later, on May 12, Teigen apologized to Courtney Stodden for past online bullying, saying "I was an insecure, attention seeking troll" for using private DMs to urge a then-teenage Stodden to "take a dirt nap" and commit suicide. "I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel," Teigen added in her apology, which came two days after Stodden revealed the online bullying in The Daily Beast. Vulture's Josef Adalian reports that Teigen's voice appearance will be scrapped and that her role will be scrapped following her bullying controversy. The news comes a month before Never Have I Ever's second season drops in July. Teigen has “decided to step away from the guest role," says a show spokesperson. Since the bullying apology, Teigen has been reportedly dropped from three major retailers: Target, Macy's and Bloomingdale's.
