The two-time Pulitzer Prize winner's 2009 novel Sag Harbor is getting the TV series treatment following the success of Barry Jenkins' Amazon adaptation of his novel The Underground Railroad. "Set in 1985, Sag Harbor tells the story of Benji Cooper, one of the few Black students at an elite prep school in Manhattan," per Deadline. "Every summer, Benji escapes to the Hamptons, to Sag Harbor, where a small community of African American professionals have built a world of their own." Whitehead will serve as executive producer, while Daniel “Koa” Beaty is attached to write the pilot. Fishburne will also executive produce through his production company.
