Stevens was a beloved comedian who once starred in the Zach Galifianakis-produced 2013 Comedy Central series Brody Stevens: Enjoy It, about a standup comedian who suffers a public mental breakdown. Stevens also warmed up audiences for shows ranging from @Midnight to Chelsea Lately, and worked in sketches on Craig Kilborn's Late Late Show and Conan's Late Night. Nick Kroll, who put Stevens on Kroll Show, tweeted that "he was so funny and weird and vulnerable and wild and kind. Every time he was onstage it was an adventure." Kumail Nanjiani added: "Nobody else was like him, on or off stage. Seeing him was always a joy. We’ll miss you Brody." David Cross tweeted: "F*cking f*ck. Brody Stevens. Ugh. What a unique talent he was. Just so sad. So so sad. I feel terrible." Whitney Cummings weeted: "I love you so much Brody Stevens. Nobody has been nicer in comedy than you. My heart is shattered." Patton Oswalt spoke for many when he tweeted: "If you are depressed or feeling suicidal please please please please please reach out to ANYONE. I never get to see Brody Stevens again I can’t stand this." Sarah Silverman commemorated Stevens by tweeting that "Brody would be so psyched about TMZ covering" his death.
