Conan O'Brien's departure in June 2021 from the nightly cable talk show format raises the question of the future of the nightly cable talk show format. Meanwhile, cable talk shows that run less frequently like Desus & Mero, Real Time with Bill Maher, Last Week with John Oliver and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee have continued to thrive.
