"Offerman has managed to harness the near unreadable expressions and deadpan tones that once made Ron Swanson so funny for more nefarious purposes," says Kayla Cobb. "As Offerman stares off into the distance and his employees cower for his approval, he doesn’t seem sympathetic. He seems dangerous. Offerman characterizes Forest as an unpredictable god in his own domain, one who would just as casually order murder as he would reach out a hand to help. Many other actors would make this constant juggling of power seem forced, but never Offerman."
