The Jessie alum and Descendants star died in his sleep Saturday morning of a seizure brought on by an “ongoing medical condition," his family said in a statement. Boyce had just turned 20 on May 28. “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world," Disney Channel said in a statement. "He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, castmates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.” Boyce was a staple on the Disney Channel, appearing on many of its shows and starring on Jessie from 2011 to 2015. He'll appear in Descendants 3 next month, reprising his role as Cruella de Vil’s son. He also has a role in HBO's Mrs. Fletcher. Boyce's death inspired tributes from Disney CEO Bob Iger, former Vice President Joe Biden, his Grown-Ups dad Adam Sandler and many of his Disney Channel colleagues. “He was younger than me but taught me how to spread love and kindness more than anyone that has ever been in my life,” wrote Peyton List, who played his sister on Jessie, in a tribute on Instagram. “He lifted everyone around him, and inspired/pushed me to be a better person than I ever would’ve been without his guidance, patience, and love." Jessie alum Skai Jackson added: "I don’t even know where to start... I am at a loss for words. I never thought in a million years I would be writing this. Cam, you were one of a kind. My heart will be forever broken. I am so happy that I got to spend almost everyday with you on set, you gave the best hugs." Descendants director Kenny Ortega also paid tribute to Boyce, writing on Instagram: "May the Love and Light you spread throughout your brief life, soar you with flight into the heavens above. You were already an Angel in life. The Legacy you leave is magnificent! Love You My Forever Boy."
