The Owl House creator Dana Terrace confirmed via the show and on Twitter that the character Amity is bisexual, making her one of the first leading LGBTQ Disney characters. “I’m bi! I want to write a bi character, dammit!" Terrace tweeted Sunday. "Luckily my stubbornness paid off and now I am VERY supported by current Disney leadership.” Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch, who's dating Terrace, remembers Disney Channel's past policy to censor any “explicit LGBTQ+” content. "Apparently ‘happiest place on earth’ meant ‘straightest,’” Hirsch tweeted. “But as of today, thanks to @DanaTerrace & team there are explicitly queer ANIMATED MAIN CHARACTERS on DISNEY TV.
