Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher are joining Disney+ on March 16. Since Netflix's Marvel shows featured violence, nudity and profanity, the family friendly Disney+ is introducing parental controls to keep kids from seeing them. All Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will be prompted to set parental controls when the new titles arrive. They'll be presented with enhanced content ratings and PIN protection. Subscribers must voluntarily choose the TV-MA option for mature content, otherwise they'll see TV-14 content. As Kelly Lawler notes, adding mature content is a major change for Disney+: "Early in Disney+'s life, executives said the streaming service would never include these series because of their adult content. However, Disney+ has continued to evolve since it debuted in 2019. The streamer recently added ABC sitcoms Black-ish and The Wonder Years to its library, as well as films like Ryan Reynolds' video game-set Free Guy. The new acquisitions appear to be a part of a strategy to diversify the content on Disney+ to attract more than just Star Wars fans and parents of preschoolers hooked on Bluey and Encanto."
