Disney+ orders a Love, Simon follow-up series without director Greg Berlanti's involvement

Berlanti directed last year's hit film about a gay teen romance starring Nick Robinson, but he won't be involved in the TV series because of his deal with Warner Bros. While the movie was adapted from Becky Albertalli's book Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, the TV series will be based on its sequel, Leah on the Offbeat. Disney+ has tapped This Is Us co-showrunners Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker to write and oversee the series.
