The Feb. 13, 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show on NBC will mark the first time the five superstars will grace the stage together. It will also mark the first Super Bowl halftime show from Los Angeles in 30 years, with the big game being played in the newly built SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dr. Dre said in a statement. “I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.” All five artists have a connection via Dre. "Dre is the connective tissue between each of the artists, having famously produced several songs and albums by each of the other four performers; Dre produced the entirety of Snoop’s debut album Doggystyle, while Eminem and Lamar spent large parts of their careers signed to Dre’s Aftermath Records and each of the four artists has appeared on Dr. Dre’s albums through the years," says Dan Rys. The NFL says that the five artists combine for 43 Grammys and 19 No. 1 Billboard albums.
