"Schools are a very appetizing opportunity," Dr. Mehmet Oz said last night on Fox News' Hannity. "I just saw a nice piece in The Lancet arguing the opening of schools may only cost us 2 to 3%, in terms of total mortality. Any, you know, any life is a life lost, but ... that might be a tradeoff some folks would consider." Dr. Oz was called ghoulish for his comment, which was wrong. As Jake Tapper points out, the Lancet study: states: "Recent modelling studies of COVID-19 predict that school closures alone would prevent only 2–4% of deaths, much less than other social distancing interventions." ALSO: There's nothing wrong with what Dr. Oz said.
