Duffer Brothers respond to plagiarism lawsuit over Stranger Things, calling it "completely meritless"

"Mr. Kessler’s claim is completely meritless,” said the Duffer Brothers attorney, Alex Kohner, responding to Charlie Kessler's lawsuit claiming the Duffers ripped off his 2012 short film Montauk. “He had no connection to the creation or development of Stranger Things. The Duffer Brothers have neither seen Mr. Kessler’s short film nor discussed any project with him. This is just an attempt to profit from other people’s creativity and hard work.” ALSO: TMZ says it obtained an August 2015 casting call for "the Netflix series 'Montauk.'"
