The Saved by the Bell star's girlfriend, Tash, and best friend, Dan Block, revealed that Diamond had been released from the hospital Monday morning after a brief weekend hospitalization, and had returned to the house he was staying at in preparation for hospice care, when he was found not breathing. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead a short time later. Diamond was hospitalized last Friday after he struggled to breathe. "Last Friday and Saturday he was able to talk and by Sunday he was having real problems breathing and barely speaking," said Block. "He was able to say a few things on Sunday, and was able to ask for a smoothie. But he was in pain. He got really bad by Sunday evening. By Monday you could tell he was in pain, I think he was suffering, by the way he was breathing." Block also revealed that Diff'rent Strokes alum Todd Bridges was one of the last people to speak to Diamond.
