Oscar-winning director Boyle will executive produce and direct Pistol, a six-part series on the iconic 1970s British punk band, based on guitarist Steve Jones' 2017 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol. Jones will serve as executive producer. The Society alum Wallace will lead the cast, playing Jones, while former Game of Thrones star Williams will play punk icon Jordan. Anson Boon will play singer John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon, Louis Partridge will play bassist Sid Vicious and Jacob Slater has signed on for the role of drummer Paul Cook. Also cast are Fabien Frankel as Glen Matlock, Dylan Llewellyn as Wally Nightingale, Sydney Chandler as Chrissie Hynde and Emma Appleton as Nancy Spungen. According to Deadline, "Pistol is anchored by Jones’ book, Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, which moves from West London’s council estates, to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s notorious Kings Road SEX shop, to the international controversy that came with the release of Never Mind the Bollocks, which was banned by the BBC and is frequently listed as one of the most influential albums of all time."
