In Sunday's “Disney’s The Reboot" episode mocking Family Guy's new Disney ownership, a focus group is shown a scene with jokes about Peter's sexuality. “I thought I read you guys were phasing out gay jokes,” one focus group member asked. To which Peter Griffin replied: “That quote was taken out of context and widely misunderstood.” Which begs the question: "Has Family Guy reversed its decision to 'phase out' gay jokes?" asks Andy Swift. As he notes, executive producers Alec Sulkin and Rich Appel said in January that they were indeed being phased out because "the climate is different."
