On Monday, Fox News' Neil Cavuto made headlines when he cut away from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany spreading election disinformation, with some thinking that the right-leaning cable news network was changing its tune in the wake of declaring Biden as the victor in the presidential race. But as journalist Yashar Ali points out, Cavuto has "had many moments like this in the past." It doesn't mean that Fox News is breaking with the Trump administration. As The Atlantic's McKay Coppins tweeted: "Lots of people on here are high-fiving over that Cavuto clip, but I've had Fox News on for the past couple hours and even the non-opinion hosts are giving a fair amount of airtime to the election-fraud stuff. Not backing it, but giving guests room to sound off on it, etc. Just pointing out that the rigged-election narrative still seems to be getting plenty of oxygen on Fox, which might explain some Republican officials' behavior." As CNN's Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy point out, right-wing media, including Fox News, has had saturation coverage of alleged voter fraud. "Websites like Breitbart and some of the biggest stars on Fox News are creating content for an alternative reality in which President Trump's long shot legal challenge is courageous, where Democratic voter fraud is rampant, and where the Supreme Court may intervene to ensure that Trump will remain president," Darcy and Stelter write on CNN.com. These outlets are peddling their audiences false hope that Trump could emerge victorious when, in reality, there is no evidence of widespread fraud and legal experts have said Trump's legal challenges have little to no merit, much less any chance of swinging the election. But Trump's biggest promoters in the media are in denial -- or, perhaps, just acting as the propagandists for Trump they've become over the past four years."
