The network is currently looking into making a pilot and is currently searching for a new host for a potential revival of the popular crimefighting series, which John Walsh hosted on Fox from 1988 to 2011. “It’s a great format, very Fox format,” Fox alternative programming chief Rob Wade tells Deadline. He says the new version of America's Most Wanted will build on the Walsh-hosted series' legacy, but with more urgency and with global crimes in mind. “It is America’s Most Wanted but with the help of our producer and Interpol we are now able to work outside of the U.S. because a lot of the fugitives these days travel; you need to be able to have a global reach to find fugitives,” says Wade. He adds: "I think it is a show that can create urgency and has a kind of a good heart at the end of the day. It is a crime show but it has positivity to it; you can try to find a fugitive and help.”
